Police said the dog walker was threatened in Tattenhoe Valley Park, Milton Keynes

A manhunt was launched after a dog walker had threats made against his life, police said.

The victim was walking his dog in Tattenhoe Valley Park, in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, at 08:30 GMT.

He was then "confronted" by a man with a large lurcher-style dog.

Thames Valley Police confirmed no one was injured during the incident but said it had launched an appeal for witnesses.

The force also wanted to speak to a man who was in the park at the same time and they had made efforts to locate him.

He was described as a short white man, aged between 45 and 55 years old, who was balding and wore a white coat.

PC Elliot Purves, based at Milton Keynes police station, said: "I am appealing for witnesses to this incident, in which a man was threatened in a public place.

"He was not injured and the offender left, but I would urge anybody who witnessed this or may have any information that may assist this investigation to please contact Thames Valley Police."
