Police in Ampthill say they are looking for a silver car that seems to be following delivery vans

Thieves have been targeting delivery vans as they make their "last rounds before Christmas," according to police.

Bedfordshire's Ampthill Community Policing Team is encouraging residents to report any suspicious activity.

They are asking people to look out for a silver car that seems to be following delivery vans, or anyone "loitering around vans and behaving suspiciously".

"We're following a number of lines of enquiry to identify [those] responsible," the force said.

The force has urged communities to "work together" to disrupt criminal activity and "prevent thieves from spoiling the holiday season for others."
