The family of a man who went missing at Christmas want people to check their CCTV cameras to help them find him.

Marc Jones has not been seen since he left a relative's house in Hockley, near Southend-on-Sea in Essex, at about 08:45 GMT on Saturday.

His disappearance was said to be completely out of character for the father of one.

Meanwhile, Thames Valley Police is searching his hometown of Marlow in Buckinghamshire.

The 44-year-old was with relatives in Hockley with his 11-year-old son.

He left the house alone wearing a dark padded jacket with a furry hood, brown trousers, a rust-coloured knitted top and black trainers.

He is 5ft 11in (1.8m) and has a cross tattoo on his wrist.

Essex Police has conducted an aerial search of Hockley Woods but said it did not find anything.

His family want anyone with CCTV footage near the woodland to get in touch with police by dialling 101.

Both Thames Valley and Essex Police want anyone who sees Mr Jones to dial 999.
