Hemel Hempstead multi-vehicle collision after police pursuit

A stolen vehicle that was being pursued by police was involved in a multi-vehicle crash.

Hertfordshire Police said it believed the vehicle had been taken from Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire,

A pursuit was authorised after the vehicle did not stop for police. It later stopped in Cuttsfield Terrace, Hemel Hempstead.

The car was involved in a collision with other vehicles and a number of minor injuries were sustained.

The driver then made off from the scene on foot and a police helicopter was deployed to locate him.

Police say a 23-year-old man, from Hemel Hempstead, was found and arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving in accordance with a licence and testing positive for cannabis.

A 17-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
