Driver arrested after pedestrian dies in Brogborough collision

A driver in his 70s was arrested after a fatal crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Bedfordshire Police appealed for witnesses for the incident which took place on Bedford Road, Brogborough, at about 07:30 GMT on Tuesday.

The pedestrian, a man in his 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man in his 70s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and released on bail while further inquiries were carried out.

Police have requested anybody who saw the incident, which involved a black Nissan Qashqai, to contact them.
