Police warn 63 drivers over Flitwick car-meet fire stunt

Police have issued 63 warning letters to drivers who attended an illegal car meet at which people stood inside a ring of fire while cars drove round it.
Bedfordshire Police said the event took place at Lyall Court in Flitwick on 13 January.
Businesses in the industrial estate had raised concerns after the stunt had been caught on CCTV cameras.
PC Mark Anstey, of Ampthill Community Policing Team, condemned "the anti-social behaviour" at the event.
Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire at Flitwick Industrial Estate after the car meet had taken place.
The fire had already burned itself out when firefighters arrived and the service said attending the scene had meant it had been diverted from a serious road traffic collision.
Police explained a number of traffic offences had been committed at the event, with one vehicle colliding with a security post.
Officers issued Community Protection Notice Warnings (CPNW) letters to the registered owners of vehicles who attended the event.
Mr Anstey explained: "The CPNWs have been issued with the explicit instruction that the owners of the vehicles must not attend, arrange, or promote any unauthorised car meets in the future otherwise further action can be taken against them.
"We will carry out more stringent action if this behaviour continues. The safety of the community is our priority."
