Cyclist and driver injured after Luton busway collision

Arriva said it was investigating after a bike was involved in an incident with a cyclist

A cyclist and bus driver suffered "minor injuries" after both were involved in a collision.

Bus company Arriva confirmed the incident took place on Tuesday at about 06:00 GMT in the Skimpot area of Luton on the busway that runs to Dunstable.

An Arriva spokesperson said it was investigating the matter and no passengers were on board the bus.

Luton Borough Council, who operate the busway, said: "The incident was caused by a driver error."

The authority added that nobody was seriously harmed though the driver and cyclist sustained minor injuries.

Bedfordshire Police said they did not attend the scene.

The busway has since been cleared and is now operating as usual.
