Slough park's dog mess to be tackled with flags

White flags are set to highlight foul scenes in a Berkshire park in the fight against dog mess.

The campaign will kick off in Mercian Park in Cippenham near Slough as part of a campaign to target unsightly scenes and health issues.

Slough Borough Council animal warden Jackie Singer said she hoped it would show how big the problem was.

The first bag and flag campaign will take place on 30 March between 1630 and 1830 GMT.

It follows similar scenes operated by other councils where small plastic golf flags are put in green areas next to dog mess.

Ms Singer said: "I think there will be a fair few flags.

"The whole point of putting the flags out is to see how big a problem it is and there's definitely a problem out there."
