West Berkshire Council tax payments taken early

  • Published

West Berkshire Council has apologised after a "processing problem" meant council tax and business rate payments were taken a day early.

Direct Debit payments were taken on Thursday instead of the usual first day of the month.

The council said if the error has caused an account to go overdrawn any fees will be refunded by the bank.

Under the Direct Debit Guarantee Scheme customers will be refunded in full if a payment has been wrongly taken.

The authority apologised for any inconvenience caused and said further information can be found on its website.
