Broadmoor Hospital incident prompts internal review

  • Published

Broadmoor Hospital is carrying out an internal investigation after four patients damaged a corridor and security cameras on a ward.

The incident at the high-security hospital in Berkshire took place in the early hours of Tuesday.

Staff secured the ward and moved all other patients to a safe area following the incident.

West London Mental Health NHS Trust, which runs the hospital, said there were no injuries to patients or staff.

Emergency services went to the hospital to offer support in what was described by the trust as "standard procedure", but did not enter the building.
