Windsor warned of UAE president state visit disruption
- Published
Residents in Windsor have been warned of road closures and traffic delays during a forthcoming state visit.
The Queen and Prince Philip will welcome Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, on 30 April.
There will be a traditional carriage procession from Datchet Road through the streets to Windsor Castle.
The town's council said there would be "unavoidable disruption" both on the day and for the rehearsal on 26 April.
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead added it would be issuing information booklets to residents and businesses with a procession map, road closure times and parking arrangements.
Shops and businesses in the town centre will be open as usual on both days.
But town centre road closures will be in force on 26 April from 08:45 BST to 15:00 and on 30 April from 09:45 to 15:00.
Full details are available from the council's website, external.
This will be the 10th state visit in Windsor since 1998.
