Reading Cow Lane closes for station upgrade

One of Reading's busiest commuter routes has been closed for weekend work on the town's £895m station upgrade.

Cow Lane will be shut until 05:00 BST on Monday while the road is widened underneath the railway bridge that was installed in December.

Network Rail warned there may be "some noise generated at night time" and the work had to be "illuminated".

Signposted diversions will be in place, but there will still be access to businesses from nearby Portman Road.

Overnight closures will take place each day from Monday 3 June to Friday 9 June, from 20:00 to 06:00.
