The team behind the revamp of Reading station have won a prize at the National Rail Awards.

The workers on the seven-year £895m redevelopment celebrated in London after winning Project Of The Year.

The work involved building a bigger station, a new viaduct and new freight lines that removed a large train bottleneck on the western route.

A "delighted" Network Rail director Robbie Burns said the "many years of planning and hard work paid off".
