Immersive simulator transforms sewer training

A simulator is transforming the way drainage engineers train for their jobs.

The virtual reality projection theatre allows teams to instantly see and hear what it is like to be inside a sewer, without having to get their feet wet.

Rather than being taught in classrooms, or learning in a sewer itself, crews can learn from an industrial estate in Slough.

The audio-visual software also allows the creation of multiple interactive scenarios, so trainees can decide what happens next and learn from the consequences.
