The gates of an Elizabethan mansion have been destroyed after being hit by a coach carrying wedding guests.

The pillars and finials at Grade I listed Shaw House in Newbury, Berkshire, were also damaged in the crash on Saturday.

A spokesperson for West Berkshire Council said the area had been cordoned off and visitors need to enter via the main car park entrance instead.

Shaw House confirmed nobody was hurt in the crash.
