Pangbourne murder investigation launched after pair found dead

A murder investigation has been launched after a woman was found fatally stabbed in a car and an 18-year-old man died on a railway line.
Thames Valley Police said the two deaths, both in Pangbourne in Berkshire, were being treated as linked and no-one else was being sought in connection with either.
The 56-year-old woman was found in a vehicle at about 17:45 GMT on Thursday.
The man was found dead on the railway track near Pangbourne at about 18:15.
Police were initially called to a reported crash involving a Lexus vehicle on the A340 Tidmarsh Road at its junction with Flower's Hill.
Within the vehicle a woman was found with fatal stab wounds and died at the scene.
'No wider threat'
Police were then called to a casualty on the railway track near Pangbourne.
Neither victim has been formally identified but the next of kin for both have been informed.
Det Supt Kevin Brown said: "We are still investigating but are treating the two deaths as linked; we are keeping an open mind as to the circumstances of each.
"There is no wider threat to the public from these sad and tragic incidents."
He added that after significant disturbance to the roads and railway network, that both were now back open as normal.
The incident closed the line for nearly twelve hours, leaving travellers stranded on trains until the early hours of the morning.
