A teenage boy has been arrested after two men were stabbed.

Thames Valley Police confirmed the men were seriously injured in the incident on Saturday at about 13:45 GMT.

Officers were called to an area between Durham Close and Northumberland Avenue in Reading where the men, aged 41 and 42, were found.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody. The two men are receiving treatment in hospital.

Det Insp Katie Smith said: "This was a violent incident in which we believe all of those involved were known to each other.

"I'd also like to reassure people that we do not believe there is a threat to the wider public at this time, but there will be an increased police presence in the area while we investigate this incident."

Officers appealed for witnesses to get in touch.
