Volunteer groups could run Bracknell home library service

A home library service could continue for another year while a council seeks volunteers to keep it running.
Bracknell Forest Council proposed ending the service which delivers books and other library loan items free of charge to housebound residents.
The move is part of plans to save £201,000 by merging libraries and customer services over two years.
Now the council says the service could continue until at least April 2025 while it finds someone else to run it.
The announcement came after councillor Gareth Barnard asked Thursday's Overview and Scrutiny Commission if there were ways to keep the service running, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.
Executive director of resources at the council, Stuart McKellar, said the proposals were intended for year two of a two-year savings plan.
He said: "That does allow time to work with the voluntary sector and others to identify other ways of enabling people who can't travel to the libraries to still have access to library provision."
The change to the home library service is part of a proposed budget being considered by Bracknell Forest Council.
Members of the public can share their views on Bracknell Forest Council's website until on 23 January.
