Residents have seen their water supplies restored after two water mains burst in Berkshire.

Thames Water said 73 people were left with low pressure or no supplies in the RG40 and RG41 postcode areas of Finchampstead and Wokingham.

The company said it had two teams on the ground repairing the pipe which was fixed late on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the firm apologised for the disruption and thanked customers for their patience.

Two tankers had been used to put extra water into the network to reduce the impact to customers, and bottled water was delivered to vulnerable customers on Thames Water's priority services register.

The spokesperson said the issue arose as a "result of two burst water mains, following the recent cold weather".

Water was also returned to taps in Reading on Tuesday after three days of problems, following an issue at a treatment site and more than 10 burst mains.
