Slough train station mural unveiled to celebrate town's diversity

A mural highlighting Slough's diversity has been painted at its train station.

The piece, created by Colombian artist Jho, can be seen on Platform 3 after being unveiled on Tuesday morning.

Jho, whose real name is Johana Pnazas, moved to the town six months ago and said she wanted to celebrate its "pivotal role in global connectivity".

Car used by Queen during Obama state visit up for sale

A car previously owned by Queen Elizabeth II and driven during a state visit by US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle has gone on sale.

The Range Rover was used by the late monarch around Windsor Castle and has unique features including extra handles to help Her Majesty access the back seats more comfortably.

Bramley Motor Cars, based in Surrey, has it listed for £224,850.

Bracknell mother petitions against school attendance adverts

A mother has launched a petition demanding the government withdraws an "insulting" school attendance campaign.

Emma Hester, from Bracknell, Berkshire, said her 11-year-old daughter was not attending school because of unmet autism needs and a "broken system".

She said the government's "Moments Matter, Attendance Counts" posters suggested parents were to blame for allowing truancy.

The Watermill Theatre in Newbury wins top prize

A venue that staged a Lord of the Rings musical after losing its arts funding has won theatre of the year at a national awards ceremony.

The Watermill Theatre in Newbury, Berkshire, was jointly recognised alongside The National Theatre in London at the Stage Awards 2024.

The theatre launched a successful version of JRR Tolkien's books in July.

Childhood 'white lies' helped Harry win BBC reality show

The Traitors winner Harry Clark has said telling "little white lies" as a child stood him in good stead to triumph on the BBC reality TV show.

However, the 22-year-old from Slough, Berkshire, added he might be a "psycho" because he had convinced himself his deceptions were the truth.

He took home the whole £95,150 prize pot in the series finale on 26 January.
