Sonning driver seen falling out of pub before hitting pedestrians
A van driver was captured drunkenly falling out of a pub before he hit three pedestrians with his vehicle.
Thames Valley Police said Adam Garrett, 26, of Loddon Bridge Road, Wokingham, was sentenced to four years in prison.
He was also disqualified from driving for 12 years and will have to pass an extended re-test before regaining his licence.
A force spokesperson said Garrett pleaded guilty to three counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He was filmed on various CCTV drinking in a pub and then stumbling to his van on 5 May 2023.
Police were called to the French Horn restaurant on the B478 at 22:55 BST after reports of a white Ford Transit Connect van, hitting three pedestrians - a woman and two men.
In a statement, police explained Garrett failed to stop at the scene of the collision, but officers quickly identified the vehicle involved and arrested him later that night.
The two male pedestrians suffered serious injuries and the woman sustained a serious head injury and had to remain in hospital for more than eight months.
