A house has been damaged by a fire caused by a lightning strike.
Crews from three fire stations were called at 05:30 BST to Broken Furlong near Eton, Berkshire.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters spent nearly two hours on the scene, preventing the blaze from spreading from the loft to the rest of the building.
The service was unable to say whether anyone was in the house when the fire started.
Lightning strikes also caused damage overnight to buildings in Watford, West and East Sussex and a main rail line between Wiltshire and Somerset.
