Trevor Francis is to be added to the Walk of Stars on Birmingham's Broad Street.
He became Birmingham City's youngest debutant in 1970 and scored 119 goals in 280 league appearances for the club.
Francis became manager at the Blues in 1996, taking them to the 2001 League Cup final, losing to Liverpool. He left the club later that year.
The star will be officially presented before the club's home game against Nottingham Forest on 29 November.
The striker was the first English player to be transferred for £1m when he moved to Nottingham Forest in 1979.
