Family's pride at VC honour for Tipton WW1 soldier

The family of a soldier awarded the Victoria Cross for valour in World War One say they are proud to take part in centenary commemorations to mark his bravery.

Sgt Harold John Colley from Tipton, who died in battle in Normandy, will be remembered on a special stone. It will be unveiled in the borough of Sandwell on the 100th anniversary of his death in August 2018.

His great nephew Ian West, who has visited his grave in France, said: "I feel enormously privileged that one of my relatives is being remembered in this way."
