Third murder arrest over Hockley double shooting

A third man has been arrested on suspicion of murder over a double shooting in Birmingham.

Derek Junior Myers, 25, was killed in the attack. A second man was seriously injured and remains in a critical condition in hospital.

The 33-year-old was arrested in an armed raid on a house in Tividale and is being questioned by detectives.

The shooting happened on 30 October on the A41 at Soho Hill in Hockley.

Two men, aged 25 and 27, earlier arrested on suspicion of murder, have been bailed with strict conditions, said West Midlands Police.

Det Ch Insp Caroline Marsh, who is leading the investigation, said: "My team of detectives continue to sift through information to identify those who were involved in this incident.

"A man has lost his life and another remains critical in hospital and we would continue to appeal for anyone with information to come forward and contact us."
