Police and G4S, who run the prison, are investigating the disorder
A second man has been charged in connection with an outbreak of large scale disorder at HMP Birmingham last month.
Robert Smith, 33, is due before Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Saturday accused of prison mutiny.
On Friday, inmate Ross Queen appeared at the same court also charged with prison mutiny and taking a photograph inside the prison.
Police said officers were working with G4S to investigate the trouble.
