Benjamin Morse was hit by a car on 1 May

A man has been charged with murder following a suspected hit-and-run crash.

Benjamin Morse, 36, was killed on 1 May when he was hit by a dark-coloured hatchback at around 12:15 BST on Cherry Street, Halesowen, West Midlands.

Nidal Alboraiki, 21, also from Halesowen, is also charged with perverting the course of justice, West Midlands Police said.

He will appear before Dudley Magistrates' Court later.

Police said five other men arrested in connection with the incident remain on police bail.

Of those, two men, aged 31 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, while three men, aged 21, 22 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of murder.

Mr Morse was described by his family as a "sports mad Arsenal fanatic" who "would do anything for anyone".
