Alexander Phillip Leonard died in hospital after being stabbed on Monday

Police have named a man who died after being stabbed in Birmingham on Monday as Alexander Phillip Leonard.

The 22-year-old, from Bartley Green, died in hospital after the attack in Woodgate Gardens at 22:50 BST.

Police said they have arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of murder and have been given more time to question a 16-year-old boy about the death.

A 21-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released without charge.

Det Insp Caroline Corfield said: "Investigations are continuing into the tragic death of Mr Leonard.

"I wish to express my gratitude to the local community who have been very supportive of this investigation but I do believe there are still others who will have relevant information."
