Man released over Solihull attempted rape of girl, 11

A man arrested in connection with the attempted rape of an 11-year-old as she walked home from school has been released without charge.
The girl was knocked to the ground and suffered a knife wound to her neck in the attack in Babbs Mill Park, Solihull, on Friday.
The 35-year-old was arrested on suspicion of a sexual offence earlier.
Police said the offender, who had a dog with him, was white, slightly tanned, with short brown/greying hair.
He was muscular and stocky, with large hands. The dog was a white King Charles spaniel, with light brown patches on its ears and body and a red collar and red extendable lead.
The girl was was taken to hospital after the attack, which happened at some time between 14:30 and and 14:50 BST, and has since been discharged, a police spokesman said.
Ch Insp Colin Barnes, from Solihull Police, said: "The man arrested earlier today has been eliminated from our enquiries and we are continuing to appeal for information.
"While we do have extra patrols in the area and a large number of officers working on the investigation, the role the public plays in this remains crucial."
