Man critical after 'hit-and-run' in Yardley

Two people have been arrested after a man was seriously hurt in a suspected hit-and-run.

The man, in his 30s, was found injured on Selby Close in Yardley, Birmingham, at about 17:10 BST on Friday, West Midlands Police said.

He was taken to hospital where his condition was critical but stable, the force added.

A 48-year-old man and a woman, 43, were both arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The pair remain in custody.
