A fox was spotted having a casual stroll through Birmingham city centre as commuters made their way to work.

Passers-by looked on in disbelief as the wild animal trotted through a crowded Moor Street Queensway at about 08:55 BST on Tuesday.

The furry interloper did not spend much time 'foxing around' as it was seen then heading towards High Street.

A post on X, formerly Twitter, about the sighting has attracted more than 25,000 views.

Over in Wolverhampton, civil servants heading into work at the city's council officers also spotted a furry new co-worker relaxing by a bench.
