A man has been arrested after a Birmingham City player reported being racially abused during a match.

The club said midfielder Juninho Bacuna "reported an incident of racism" during the side's 4-1 home win against Huddersfield Town on 3 October.

A 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a racially-aggravated public order offence after being spotted just after kick-off at Wednesday's match against Hull City.

He remains in police custody.

Another man in his 20s was also arrested on Wednesday, just after full-time, on suspicion of assaulting a steward and also remains in custody, West Midlands Police said.

The match against Hull ended in a 2-0 defeat for Birmingham, a second consecutive loss for new manager Wayne Rooney.
