Fish could be seen scattered across the carriageway
A lane of the M6 motorway was closed for more than an hour due to a spillage of fish on the carriageway.
The southbound lane between junction six for the A38 and junction five for Sutton Coldfield shut at about 08:10 BST on Thursday.
It reopened at about 09:50 BST after the scaly debris was cleared, National Highways said.
But there continued to be journey delays of about 20 minutes, the authority added.
