A teenager accused of terror offences has pleaded not guilty to six charges.

Amir El-Harith, 18, from Smethwick, appeared via video-link from Belmarsh Prison at a hearing at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday.

The defendant, wearing a prison-issue grey tracksuit, spoke only to deny three charges of dissemination of a terrorist publication and three of encouraging terrorism.

Another hearing is due to be held at the same court on 6 February.

A date of 11 March has been set for a trial that is expected to last for two weeks.
