Pedestrian dies in lorry crash in Bloxwich

A man died when he was hit by a lorry in Walsall.

The pedestrian, in his 50s, was struck on Leamore Lane, a service road off Bloxwich Road, Bloxwich, just after 10:30 GMT. He died at the scene.

The driver of the lorry remained at the location and was helping officers with inquiries, West Midlands Police said.

The man's family was informed, the force added, and officers were reviewing CCTV as part of their investigation.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said the man had sustained serious injuries and received advanced life support treatment at the scene but could not be saved.

The lorry driver did not require treatment, the spokesperson added.
