Bomb squad officers have been called in after suspicious items were found at the home of a man arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill.

Army explosive ordnance disposal experts are investigating after the find on Wednesday evening during the arrest at a house in Stourbridge.

A cordon has been set up around the property in The Broadway in Norton.

The 37-year-old remains in custody, said West Midlands Police.

Properties either side of the home have been evacuated, they added.

Local officers were being deployed to the area to provide reassurance.

"We are working closely with local partners to ensure this incident is dealt with as swiftly and safely as possible," the force added in a statement.
