Revamped Birmingham social club's 'affordable' ballet

A social club has said it is offering ballet and other performances in a "world-class" programme of arts delivered at "affordable prices".
Comedy, poetry and music are also on the bill at revamped Hockley Social Club in Birmingham.
The schedule had been created with the cost-of-living crisis in mind, organisers said.
The venue has partnered with Birmingham Royal Ballet, which will perform at the 900-seat site under the project.
The venue will also host DJs and a programme of talks.
"Right at the heart of our events programme is affordability," said Jack Brabant, director at the 10,000 sq ft site of a former industrial print works.
"People can come and watch first-class ballet for just £15, some of the best comedians in the country for under a tenner and our nights with the likes of Professor Carl Chinn and [cricketer] Chris Woakes were just priced at £10," he explained.
"It keeps everything accessible and opens up our audience to create a sense of community in the space."
