Plans to divide a large fabric warehouse in Bradford into a parade of nine shops have been approved.

An application to divide the building at the junction of White Abbey Road and Arthington Street was submitted to Bradford Council late last year.

Under the proposals the development would be carried out in two phases.

Phase one would see five new shops created at the White Abbey Road side of the building, with the further four making up phase two.

An existing car park to the rear of the building would provide 25 parking spaces, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

In a report to the planning committee, officers said: "The proposed development is acceptable in principle and would not have a detrimental effect on visual amenity, highway safety or any other planning-related matter."
