James Bubear was last seen on Sunday night
Concerns are increasing for the safety of a Bath Spa University student who has been missing since Sunday.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said the disappearance of 19-year-old James Bubear was "completely out of character".
The first-year student had been out with friends at Revolution in George Street, Bath on Sunday night.
He was last seen leaving the venue at 2230 GMT and walking off alone.
Phone found
The force spokesman said the 19-year-old had not had any contact with his friends or family since then, and had not returned to his flat on Lower Bristol Road.
He added that a member of the public had found Mr Bubear's mobile phone, and had called his home to say they had it.

Officers want the person who found the phone to get in touch and tell them where and when they found it.
The spokesman said the person was not in trouble and asked them to call the force or to hand it in to a police station.
Mr Bubear, who is from Llandrindod Wells in Powys, is described as white, 6ft 2in tall, "skinny" and with mousy brown hair.
He was last seen wearing jeans, a black or navy blue jacket, and a white shirt with a 1970s-style collar and large cuffs.
Anyone who has seen him, or knows where he is, is asked to contact Avon and Somerset Police.
