A charity in Bristol has said its new shop is the first in the city to be in the style of a department store.

St Peter's Hospice has set up its largest charity shop, covering two floors and selling menswear, childrenswear, furniture and books.

Its opening in Gloucester Road, Bishopston, is being marked by stilt walkers and jugglers.

St Peter's Hospice is a Bristol charity which cares for people with incurable illnesses.

The hospice's head of shops, Janet Loud, said: "We are Bristol's largest charity retailer...but this is our first mini department store."
