Bristol teenage cancer unit plans revealed

Plans have been revealed for a dedicated hospital unit for teenagers with cancer in Bristol.

The £13.5m scheme would involve an extension of the Haematology and Oncology Centre at the Bristol Royal Infirmary.

It would mean adults and teenagers could be cared for in wards that are appropriate for their age and without changing nurses during treatment.

The proposals have been welcomed by the hospital's board.
