An eleventh person has been charged in connection with ill treatment and neglect of patients at a private hospital near Bristol.

Neil Ferguson, 25, of Emersons Green, near Bristol, is charged with two offences of ill treatment under the Mental Health Act.

He will appear at Northavon Magistrates' Court on 2 February.

Ten other people have been charged following secret filming by the BBC at Winterbourne View, which is now closed.

They are due to appear before Bristol Crown Court on 9 February.

A man in his 40s remains on bail. Another man in his 20s has been released without charge.

Castlebeck, the firm which ran the hospital, is conducting an internal investigation.

Winterbourne View's 24 patients were transferred when the hospital, in Hambrook, South Gloucestershire, closed in June.
