Reverend John Suddards murder suspect eliminated from inquiry

The first man to be arrested on suspicion of the murder of the Reverend John Suddards has been eliminated from the police investigation

Mr Suddards, 59, was found stabbed to death in his vicarage at St Mary's Church, Thornbury, on 14 February.

A 43-year-old man who was arrested had been released on bail pending further inquiries, but police said no charges would be brought against him.

Stephen Farrow, 47, remains in custody charged with Mr Suddard's murder.

Mr Farrow, of no fixed address, is also charged with the murder of Betty Yates, 77, who was found stabbed in her cottage in Bewdley, Worcestershire, on 4 January.
