Work has started on a hospital for people with brain injuries in Swindon that will cater for patients from the South and the South West of England.

The Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust, which is behind the 20-bed facility, hopes it will create up to 70 jobs.

The trust said it will serve patients with complex care needs caused by brain injuries, some of whom may be detained under the Mental Health Act.

The hospital is due to be completed early next year.
