Dozens of drivers have been fined in a one-day police operation for using a bus lane near Bristol.

Officers fined 53 people £30 each for ignoring restrictions on Highwood Road in Patchway on 15 March, close to the Cribbs Causeway shopping mall.

The road was closed to traffic - except for buses, taxis and cycles - between its junctions with Durban Road and Coniston Road, last October.

Police said they took action after complaints from local residents.
