Urban artist hides painted cans across Bristol

Dozens of recycled cider and spray paint cans, created by an urban artist, have been hidden across Bristol for people to find and take home for free.

The artist who uses the pseudonym My Dog Sighs came up with the Free Art Friday idea 10 years ago. He said he doesn't damage property but finds litter and paints it to make it more appealing.

He described Bristol as the "home of street art" and has painted cider and spray cans as "a nod to acknowledge the city".

One hundred cans with printed faces have been spread across Bristol by the artist.

People who find the cans are invited to bring them to his exhibition at the Upfest Gallery in North Street on the opening night where they could win a prize.

The Free Art Friday movement is now followed in other countries including Russia, the US and Japan.

My Dog Sighs said he created his pseudonym "to add a bit of confusion" and saw the phrase scrawled in English on a fence in Barcelona.
