The council said a decision could be made to pump the water away on Monday
A cycle path near Bath has been closed because of flooding.
The track, which runs from Bristol to Bath along the River Avon, was closed by Bath and North East Somerset (Banes) Council after a section of it became submerged.
A 200m (220yds) stretch of the path near Newbridge is under about 60cm (2ft) of water.
It will be closed until at least Monday when a decision could be made to pump the water away.
Councillor Nigel Roberts, who is the cycle champion for Banes, said: "With the amount of water there, it wasn't safe [to keep it open]."

Several cyclists were still using the flooded cycle path on Sunday
