In pictures: Bristol's Queen's Baton Relay
- Published

On Tuesday morning the Queen's Baton arrived in Bristol. Tracie Colbron, from Westbury-on-Trym, who coaches junior girls' basketball teams in Bristol, was the first of four to carry the Baton.

Children from the nearby Cathedral Primary School were allowed a break from their lessons to cheer, as the Baton made its short journey from Millennium Square to City Hall.

As the day progressed the sun came out over the city, much to the delight of the hundreds of children who were given a chance to try a sport of their choice.

The city's ceremonial Lord Mayor Faruk Choudhury had a go at tennis with an oversized racquet.

Meanwhile in the Harbourside, the potential sports stars of the future could try their hand at sailing.

(L-R) Tracie Colbron is joined by Peter Miles, 18, from Whitchurch who trains children at Bradley Stoke Judo Club, James Gibson, 15, from St George, one of Bristol's youth mayors and Rondene Vassell, 17, from Clifton, also a youth mayor.

Several sports were on offer to try in Millennium Square including netball.

Rugby was another sport people could try out...

...and some even had a go at gymnastics.
