Bristol's Thekla music venue to sail off for revamp

One of Bristol's long-running music venues is to due to sail off for refurbishment.
The Thekla, which is docked by The Grove, near Bristol Bridge, has been a fixture in the harbour for more than 30 years.
It will be taken into dry dock to undergo a transformation over the next six weeks.
It is hoped the venue will be back in operation "by mid-September", said a spokesman.
The Theklas's website said the former cargo ship, external was originally brought to Bristol as the Old Profanity Showboat in the early 80s which ran theatre, music and poetry events
