'Body parts' found at Avonmouth recycling plant
- Published
Suspected human body parts have been found at a recycling plant in Bristol.
The force was called to the Biffa depot in Avonmouth at approximately 11:00 BST after being alerted by staff.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said part of the site had been cordoned off while inquiries are under way.
"Employees at the site were concerned at what they thought were remains in one of their units," the police spokesman said.
"At this stage we cannot confirm whether or not the remains are human."
Biffa is one of the country's waste management companies, disposing rubbish from commercial, industrial and public sector organisations.
